Nosy Onsite Landlady-would snoop around when I was getting packages delivered, comment on what I was wearing, knock on my door because she could hear me laughing on the phone or at the TV; her cat gave me an infected bite when I found it'd escaped...avoid this fake redhead-she's the Devil.

DO NOT RENT FROM! LOOK ELSE WHERE! At Whitnall Gardens you face many issues caused by their establishment and their management. I didn't realize how big of an issue getting clean water could be but Whitnall Gardens has their own private well on site that goes down often and gives off awful water. In less than 6 months I had my water go down at least 3 times once required heavy machinery right out side a whole complexes windows for days to fix. The well being on site also means that if the power goes out so does the water, so get used to both of those going out at the same time. Even when the water is working here it has a distinct metal smell and taste and will require you to filter all of your water use. The taste makes it near impossible to swallow and does not seem healthy. To fix this problem every once in a while they must pour something into their well and for about a day the water will taste like bleach and you can not shower unless you can tolerate your eyes and skin burning. I'm guessing they do this when enough people complain or they know an inspection is coming up. They do not provide enough visitor spots so if two people are living together in a single bedroom apartment expect that you may have to park on the street far away from your residence. If you do so be sure to call in your car for being parked out there or you will get receive an actual ticket from the police for parking out there. I mention actual tickets and actual police because Whitnall Gardens has their own tickets that they leave on vehicles themselves. In winter time they like to use this when plowing. It doesn't matter the time of day or how heavy the snow is you are expected to move your car for the plow or you will receive a ticket that your car is going to be towed. Without proper visitor parking this means you have no where to move your vehicle. Enjoy that conundrum. When you call management they like to use the term "common sense." I was told that I was to listen for plow trucks and that it's common sense that I go out during snow storms and move my vehicle around. I personally don't like to go out pointlessly while it's snowing but if I don't I'm to expect a ticket on my car. They keep a notice on file and inform you your car is being towed or booted at your expense in two days. They leave notes outside your door around twice a month normally to let you know that they will be shutting off water, asking you to not park in your assigned spots, or for neighbors to keep their kids quiet while playing outside. They don't seem to mention anything in these notes about when they decide to make rules up about towing your car and their winter procedures. It seems to me if you are leaving flyers at doors on a regular basis and winter is approaching mentioning the policy around that would be considered COMMON SENSE. The building itself is obviously old but they try to maintain it and will slap a fresh coat of paint over what ever old suspicious paint still remains and you get brand new counter-tops and cabinets. If you're lucky your apartment will be on the non flooded side of the basement and won't have to wear rubber boots to do laundry. Seriously, there has been a small pond in the basement since I moved here. Save yourself the trouble, at this price range you can find a place with much less hassle.

  • The atmosphere is very comforting. They offer a kitchen with coffee and you are able to bring in snacks as well. I have been here for a few funerals and they have all had a much more positive outlook on the loved one's life instead of all if the sadness and darkness.
